Halloween Celebrations and Costume Guidelines

We will continue with Centennial’s Halloween traditions of costumes and a parade. Costumes can be worn to school all day.

Rules around costumes…

  • No FULL face masks.
  • No face paint
  • Costumes must not be too scary, gory or inappropriate for the school environment.
  • No pretend “prop” weapons such as guns, knives, swords, etc.
  • If your child has a blow up costume, please note that the school will not provide replacement batteries and the costume is not allowed to be blown up while in the school building.

We will begin the whole school parade starting at 2:45pm. Kindergarten will start us off at the front of the school and will walk around the exterior of the school building, walking toward the right past 1st grade and continuing. We will do 2 full laps around the school. Parents are invited to watch the parade outside, and can sign students out afterwards.
Classrooms may engage in a brief (30 min) celebration during the school day at each teacher’s discretion.

DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR ROBOTICS?

Are you interested in supporting the 2024-2025 Vex Robotics team for our Centennial 4th and 5th grade students? We are looking for 2 adult volunteers to coach our Vex Robotics team for this school year. Students typically meet for this extracurricular activity 1 day per week after school for 2 hours and then every other Saturday for 4 hours. They prepare their robots in preparation for our St Vrain Valley School District Competition which students would participate in and is hosted at one of our St Vrain Valley schools. Please reach out to Jenn Byxbe (Principal) @ [email protected] if you have interest or have questions about this opportunity. We appreciate your consideration for leading our students!”

Lost and Found

Students, your stuff misses YOU too! Please take a moment to stop by the Lost and Found area to check for your missing things!

IPad Insurance is a LifeSaver

Did you miss the window to pay for your child’s IPad Insurance? It’s not too late! You can still enroll in insurance provided that someone at Centennial completes an inspection of the iPad first. If it is damaged, the iPad may not be enrolled in insurance until the fee for the existing damage is paid. Please visit the school office today for IPad inspection and insurance payment. Click on the link below to read about what IPad insurance covers and why it is so valuable.

Strive for Five

Our current attendance rate is 95.63%. Thank you to the 355 students who have taken the pledge to Strive for Five which means they will strive to have 5 or less absences for the school year. At each Late Start assembly, we celebrate these students and their names are placed in a raffle. When grade levels have an attendance rate of 96% or higher, they earn an extra recess. Congratulations to 1st and 3rd grades who met the goal last month! We are continuing to try and reach our overall school attendance rate goal of 96% or higher in order to slime our Principal, Mrs. Byxbe, and Dean, Mrs. Coniglio. Please reach out if you would like to talk more about how we can support your child with daily attendance.
