Thank you for supporting Centennial!
A Note from the Principal:

Hi Centennial Families,
We will continue with Centennial’s Halloween traditions of costumes and a parade on Friday, October 31st at 2:45pm. Here are the rules and expectations for costumes:
- No FULL face masks.
- No face paint.
- Costumes must not be too scary, gory, or inappropriate for the school environment.
- No pretend “prop” weapons such as guns, knives, swords, etc.
- Inflatable costumes are allowed but can only be be blown-up during the parade. Please make sure that batteries for these costumes have a good charge because the school will not be replacing bad batteries for your child’s costume.
Our whole school parade will start at 2:45 pm. Kindergarten will start us off at the front of the school and will walk around the exterior of our school (we will do 2 full laps). All families are invited to watch the parade outside and can sign their student(s) out afterward.
Looking forward to a great Halloween celebration together as a Centennial community!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Byxbe, Principal

Attendance
Our current attendance rate is 94.63%. We are striving for 95% or higher and can make that goal! Right now 4th grade is still in the lead with an attendance rate over 95%. Congratulations to the 36 students who we celebrated attendance with these past 2 weeks. Your dedication to being here every day is outstanding!

PBIS – Positive Behavior Interventions & Support
At school, our teachers are dedicated to sharing 5:1 Positive comments to Corrective comments with students. We all strive to celebrate the great things each individual is doing while also providing support in areas they may need some additional skill building. Each month our school is focusing on a characteristic and sharing next steps and strategies to accomplish that. Ask your student for some of their ideas! Students continue to earn TRACKS and Purple PAWSitive office referrals for doing their best!

October Focus: Friendship & Including Others
We have been sharing ideas on our daily announcements – You can share your favorite toy or your best crayons, give your friend a high-five when you see them, invite someone who is playing alone to join your game at recess, draw a picture for a friend and give it to them just because, say something nice, like “You’re really good at drawing!” or “I like your cool shoes!”, ask a friend to play with you, listen right away if your friend says “stop” or “no” during a game. We have been highlighting students who have been demonstrating TRACK and these characteristics.

YES!Ambassadors of Saint Vrain
Yes!Ambassadors of St Vrain presents the “Living with Dyslexia” event being hosted at Frederick High School on October 20th.
What & When & Who: The Frederick Feeder “Living with Dyslexia” event will be held October 20th, 6:00-7:30 at Frederick HS. This event is designed for students and families in the dyslexia community who are interested to form and foster community; learn more about dyslexia; and leave with some tools and ideas for the school year. This is our flyer, which provides more information.
This workshop would be helpful for parents of students of all grade-levels, and it would be helpful for parents and students to attend together who are 5th grade and older.
We are asking families to register using this form, so that we can get a sense of attendance; send a few email reminders; and get a sense of what folks are most interested in.
