- My name is Dana van der Hoeven and I am thrilled to join the Centennial team! I have been teaching third and fourth grade in St. Vrain since 2002. I recently earned my Master’s degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from CU Denver. Centennial’s Commitment Statements align with my own passion for teaching kids. I believe that community, communication, consistency, challenge and collective responsibility are all necessary to teach the whole child and have a positive impact on learning. One of my favorite things about teaching is building relationships with my students and learning new things together. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my wonderful hubby and two amazing kids, being outdoors, playing with our dog, bike riding and connecting with friends.
