Up with People Junior Summer Camp

Up with People Junior Summer Camp Coming to Centennial Elementary School!!

Up with People Junior, a performing arts summer camp program for children ages 8-11,

is coming to Centennial Elementary in June! The two-week, coed, day camp affiliated with the St. Vrain Valley School District will run June 19-30 at the Centennial Elementary School, 10290 Neighbors Pkwy, Firestone.

The Denver camp is the first in the area of what is expected to grow into a network of UWP Jr. camps

located throughout the country and around the world. Camps for summer 2017 are planned for Portland,

OR; Greensboro, NC; Phoenix, AZ; Zionsville, IN, Gwinnett County, GA and Denver, Co. UWP Jr. will

expand to international sites in 2018.

The non-profit UWP Jr. brings together local students, ages 8-11, to impact and inspire the community

through education, team building, community service, the performing arts and summer camp fun.

Through this unique combination of components, campers gain a sense of social responsibility, global

awareness, confidence and purpose, as well as the experience of and appreciation for working

cooperatively as part of a diverse group. Each camp session culminates with campers presenting a

professionally produced public performance, showcasing their talents, cultures and hopes for the world.

Designed to mirror the mission and message of the international Up with People program, UWP Jr.

shows address topics such as diversity, international awareness and personal identity.

The Denver program is headed by UWP Jr. Site Director Lindsay Adams, an aluma of Up with People,

“We are so excited to offer Up with People, Jr. in the north Metro Denver area. What an

opportunity we have to help inspire children to become better world citizens by understanding

people who are different from themselves”, Lindsay said. “All while singing, moving, creating and

forming new friendships!”
