A Note from the Principal:

Dear Families,

We wanted to share some important information with you about the upcoming Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) testing for students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th. These assessments are designed to measure student progress and provide valuable information about their academic growth.

Testing Dates:

  • CMAS testing will take place from April 8th to April 18th. Our daily testing schedule can be found here.

Subjects and Grades:

  • Math and English Language Arts (ELA): All students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be tested in these subjects.
  • Science: Only 5th-grade students will be tested in Science.

Importance of Attendance:

It is crucial that your child is present and on time for school during this testing period. Consistent attendance ensures that your child has the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills accurately. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but we kindly ask that you make every effort to schedule appointments and other activities outside of the testing window.

Preparing Your Child for Success:

To help your child perform their best, we recommend the following:

  • Adequate Sleep: Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep (8-10 hours) each night leading up to and during testing.
  • Healthy Breakfast: Provide a nutritious breakfast on testing days. A well-balanced meal will help your child focus and stay energized.
  • Positive Attitude: Encourage your child to approach the tests with a positive attitude and to do their best.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in ensuring a successful testing experience for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the school office.

Thank you for your partnership in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Jenn Byxbe- Principal
