Cold Weather…Brrrrrrrrrr

As we are heading into this season when we may have some days with colder weather, please be sure to help your child be most successful.

  • If the weather feels like 20 degrees or below, we will have indoor recesses.
  • Have your child bring a warm coat and hat/gloves as needed.
  • We ask that students have snow pants and boots if they would like to play in the field when there is snow on the ground.
  • Our school district and school will communicate with our community if we have weather that requires us to move from in-person learning to an online learning day.

DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR ROBOTICS?

Are you interested in supporting the 2024-2025 Vex Robotics team for our Centennial 4th and 5th grade students? We are looking for 2 adult volunteers to coach our Vex Robotics team for this school year. Students typically meet for this extracurricular activity 1 day per week after school for 2 hours and then every other Saturday for 4 hours. They prepare their robots in preparation for our St Vrain Valley School District Competition which students would participate in and is hosted at one of our St Vrain Valley schools. Please reach out to Jenn Byxbe (Principal) @ [email protected] if you have interest or have questions about this opportunity. We appreciate your consideration for leading our students!”

THANKSGIVING BREAK READING CHALLENGE

St. Vrain Valley School District Elementary Schools and Preschools are invited to participate in the in the district’s annual Thanksgiving Break Reading Challenge. MyON Reader, Sora, or Learning Ally reading programs will record the number of minutes read by your student. Prizes will be awarded.

Lost and Found

Students, your stuff misses YOU too! Please take a moment to stop by the Lost and Found area to check for your missing things!

IPad Insurance is a LifeSaver

Did you miss the window to pay for your child’s IPad Insurance? It’s not too late! You can still enroll in insurance provided that someone at Centennial completes an inspection of the iPad first. If it is damaged, the iPad may not be enrolled in insurance until the fee for the existing damage is paid. Please visit the school office today for IPad inspection and insurance payment. Click on the link below to read about what IPad insurance covers and why it is so valuable.

Strive for Five

Our current attendance rate is 95.56%. Thank you to the  students who had Perfect Attendance for the month of October!! At our Late Start assembly, we celebrate these students and their names are placed in a raffle for a chance to win a prize. When grade levels have an attendance rate of 96% or higher, they earn an extra recess. Congratulations to 1st grade who met the goal for October! If we can  meet our overall school attendance rate goal of 96% or higher, students will get to slime our Principal, Mrs. Byxbe, and Dean, Mrs. Coniglio. Attendance letters for students who are considered to be chronically absent are going home in Friday folders today. Please let us know how we can continue to support your child with daily and on-time attendance.
