A Note from the Principal:
Dear Families,
Welcome back to a brand-new school year!
The entire Centennial Elementary staff and I are so excited to see our returning Huskies and to welcome our new students and families. We hope you all had a wonderful summer filled with fun and rest.
As Centennial’s new principal, I’m thrilled to be joining the Husky family, and I can’t wait to meet and get to know each of you in the coming weeks. This school has such a strong sense of community, and I feel lucky to be a part of it.
Our teachers have spent the summer preparing thoughtfully for your child’s arrival; setting up classrooms that feel warm and welcoming, and planning lessons designed to spark curiosity and growth. Every member of our staff is dedicated to making sure your child feels safe, supported, and excited to learn this year!
This year, our school will continue to focus on creating a strong partnership between home and school. We believe that when we work together, we can help your children reach their full potential. One of the simplest and most powerful ways families can support that partnership is through regular school attendance. Consistent attendance helps children build a predictable routine, which can ease anxiety and help them feel more settled and confident at school. It also keeps them on track with their learning and gives them the chance to build strong friendships with peers and meaningful connections with their teachers. We’re grateful for your partnership in making attendance a priority this year!
Please mark your calendars for the Blacktop Bash on Friday, August 14th from 3:30pm-5:00pm. This will be a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, and learn about the exciting things planned for the year. We can’t wait to get started!
Wishing everyone a wonderful year ahead, let’s make it a great one, Huskies!
Sincerely,
Justina Carney
