A Note from the Principal:

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Reminders

  • We ask that everyone uses the crosswalk at the front of our building to walk students to class. Please note that there is not a crosswalk at the end of our parking lot.
  • If parking in our lot, park in a dedicated parking space.
  • If you are using the drop-off/pick-up lane, please drive past the sign in our car line that says “Student Drop Off ” before allowing your child(ren) to get out or into your car.
  • Continue to move forward in the drive line, guided by the adults waving everyone on.
  • The bus loop is not a drop off lane. Do not walk across the bus loop.
  • Students line-up to enter their classrooms at their exterior classroom doors only. Students are not permitted to enter through the main entrance unless they are arriving after 9:05am.
  • Playground Before & After School
Please help us remind your student(s) that the playground area is unavailable before and after school.  We do not have the proper supervision for students on the playground during these times and want to avoid any possible injury. Thank you!

We appreciate all of your support with drop-off and pick-up in order for it to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Thank you for your help!

Behavioral Code of Conduct Book

Dear Centennial students and families,

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools print an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what the expectations are for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

Again, thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Jennifer Byxbe, Principal

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress. In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Important iPad Updates for the 2025–2026 School Year

St. Vrain’s District Technology Services has made several updates to student iPads for the upcoming school year to support a focused and secure digital learning environment both at school and at home. One key update is the implementation of a new internet filter, Securly, which adds an extra layer of protection to iPads by blocking certain types of websites.

Attendance

We have 63 students who have taken the pledge to STRIVE FOR FIVE which means we ask students to make a pledge to strive for five or less absences for the school year. Click here to take the pledge! You can learn more about the importance of daily attendance by clicking here. We will celebrate all students who Strive for Five at our Late Start assemblies on Sept. 3rd!

Our current attendance rate is 98% and we strive for 95% or higher for the school year. Let’s keep this going, Huskies! At our September Late Start assemblies, we will share out the grade levels that have 95% or higher to earn an extra recess and then the grade level with the highest for the school will earn the attendance trophy.

Technology

At Centennial, students will be given intentional learning opportunities using IPADs and other technology while at school. We ask that families review and fill out this Technology Agreement Form with each of their students so they understand our technology practices and expectations at school. We have had 96 students sign this and need more! Please complete this by Friday, August 29, 2025. If you would like to learn more about how students use technology or have any additional questions or feedback about technology use, please connect with Sarah Coniglio (Dean) at [email protected] or Jenn Byxbe (Principal) at [email protected].
