Dear Families,
As we head into the spring season, it is time for our students (3rd-5th grade) to show off everything they have learned this year! The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments provide valuable information about student progress and helps us refine our instruction to better support every child.
Please take a moment to review our testing schedule and a few tips to help your student feel confident and prepared.
Our Testing Schedule:
Our ELA and Math assessments will take place for all testing grades from April 7th through April 14th.
Following the general testing window, our 4th-grade students will complete the Social Studies assessment on April 15th, and our 5th-grade students will complete the Science assessment from April 15th-17th.

How You Can Help
To ensure our students can perform their best, we ask for your partnership in the following areas:
- Attendance: Please ensure your child is at school on time. Being present during the regular testing window allows students to work in a familiar environment with their peers and minimizes the need for make-up sessions.
- Restful Sleep: A well-rested brain is a sharp brain! Aim for a consistent, early bedtime leading up to and during the testing dates.
- Healthy Breakfast: Starting the day with a nutritious meal provides the sustained energy needed for concentration and focus.

Registration Open for Elementary Project Launch
Academic proficiency is an important district goal for elementary students. Research shows that extended school year learning opportunities positively impact student success.
Project Launch Program Includes:
- Targeted literacy practice daily
- Content literacy in science and social studies
- Focused math study and exploration
- Transportation provided for those who qualify from predetermined bus stops
- Breakfast and lunch provided
- Exiting Kindergarten – 4th Grade Students
- Available at no cost to families

Space is limited! To register, please contact your school or teacher for a registration form, and return your completed form to either your child’s teacher, or the school office. There is no online registration format. You will be notified if your child is placed on a waitlist for this program.

March Breakfast Challenge
Did you know that Centennial serves a free breakfast to all students, every day, starting at 8:40am until 9am? We would love to have your student join in too! March is the month to try it out. Breakfast items vary from breakfast sandwiches, burritos, fruit bowls, yogurt, granola, cereal, and more. We hope to see more students join in this month!

Half Year iPad Insurance
The half year insurance fee is now available in Infinite Campus. If you have not purchased iPad insurance for your student’s iPad this school year, please consider doing so. Your child’s iPad will need to be brought to the front office and inspected. If the iPad is found to be in good condition, you are able to purchase the insurance at the half year cost of $12.50. Please visit the front office for more information and/or to pay the fee. Students’ current iPad insurance must be paid in full to be eligible for insurance the following year.

Important Reminder:
RESPONSIBLE USE OF CELL PHONES AND PERSONAL DEVICES
We commit that each and every student will be recognized for their unique talents and aspirations, and receive an exceptional PreK-12 experience in St. Vrain Valley Schools in order to graduate with a strong competitive advantage.
EXPECTATIONS
- Phones must remain off or on silent mode during school hours.
- Phones must be kept out of sight during class time (e.g., in backpacks or lockers), unless given permission by a teacher.
- Phones may only be used during:
- Before or after school (or during any break period w/teacher approval)
- Emergency situations, with staff approval.
- No photography, video, or audio recording is allowed during the school day without explicit permission from a teacher or administrator.
- Texting, calling, or using social media is not allowed during the school day.
Smartwatches and other wearable devices are subject to the same rules as phones. Students are allowed to wear their watch but no texting, calling, or playing games is allowed during school hours.
CONSEQUENCES – Elementary
- First offense: Verbal reminder of the expectation and communication to a parent/guardian.
- Second offense: Phone/watch is confiscated, returned at the end of the day, and communication to a parent/guardian with admin.
- Third offense: Phone/watch is confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian.
Further offenses: Additional disciplinary action, which may include loss of phone/watch privileges at school for a set period of time or other consequen
A note for the School Counselor:
Our Check In Check Out (CICO) PBIS program at Centennial—known as Husky Pack—continues to be a wonderful success!
More than 20 students are currently participating, working hard each day to meet their personal behavior and learning goals. With support from staff who act as “Pack Leaders” and consistent encouragement, students are building positive habits, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging. Many participants are consistently meeting their daily targets and showing meaningful growth both in and out of the classroom. To celebrate their efforts, students earn fun and motivating rewards on our Spin to Win Wheel! Prizes include such things as an extra 10 minutes of recess with a friend, “Lunch Bunch” with the school counselor, a game with a friend in the counselor’s office, a donut for breakfast, helping the principal with morning announcements, a special lunch with a teacher of their choice, a treasure chest pick, and more!
Husky Pack students will also be recognized for their achievements at the final school assembly of the year. We are so proud of their hard work and grateful for the partnership of families in supporting their success!

Attendance
Our attendance rate is 94.08%. Classes are participating in MARCH MADNESS ATTENDANCE. Congratulations to the classes who moved on to the next bracket for this week. We are also proud of Mrs. Woelfle and Mrs. Couch’s classes led with 96% attendance rates this past week. The class that is the final winner of our March Madness Attendance bracket will earn a Rootbeer Float Party!!
PBIS – Positive Behavior Interventions & Support
We continue to share about ways students can demonstrate Perseverance.
For March, students will continue working toward their Class PAWS goals.They are trying to earn outdoor Obstacle Courses (brought to us by Silver Creek High School students).
We are excited to welcome students back to continue working hard when we return on Monday, March 23rd. Enjoy Spring Break!
ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Looking for Summer Camp Ideas?
Highlands Camp & Retreat Center is an overnight adventure camp located just up the hill in Allenspark, CO. This summer, they’re offering four weeks of camp for kids entering grades 3-12. At Highlands Camp, they believe in the power of disconnecting from technology and connecting with nature. They’re a small camp with small group sizes, allowing for a lot of individual attention and personal connection. They also charge quite a bit less than other camps, too!
